Description

Forum Ruins presents a view across a formal garden towards the remains of a classical structure, its weathered masonry set against a pale sky. Low clipped hedges and terraces lead the eye to a central stair and flanking plinths, beyond which the ruin rises with broken arches and softened edges. Trees and shrubs partially obscure the architecture, while a distant skyline recedes in blue tones. Potter applies paint in distinct, directional strokes, with thicker passages in order to describe foliage and masonry.
