Art Palm Beach: Modern & Contemporary

Gladwell & Patterson look forward to returning to Art Palm Beach 2026, held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center from 28 January to 1 February.

For this presentation, the gallery brings together a focused selection of modern and contemporary painting, with a particular emphasis on abstract works that explore the interplay of colour, structure, and surface.

The display centres on artists whose practices engage with landscape and abstraction through distinct yet complementary approaches. Among them are Robert Fogell and Peter Wileman, both of whom reinterpret the natural world through a process of reduction and transformation. Fogell’s compositions are characterised by a dynamic use of gesture and layered mark-making, building richly textured surfaces that suggest atmosphere and movement. In contrast, Wileman’s paintings evolve from direct observation, gradually distilling the landscape into more expressive and rhythmic forms, where colour and structure take precedence over literal representation.
