Respected gallery leads the way in attracting online buyers to fine art

Fine art gallery Gladwell & Patterson is breaking the mould of traditional art galleries with the launch of their new website www.gladwellpatterson.com which introduces a new way to explore, discover and buy art.

The new website is the latest evolution the gallery has made in the past year, which has included a re-brand as well as a re-location to Knightsbridge.

As one of the oldest fine art establishments in London, with over 260 years of expertise, Gladwell & Patterson have recently led the move away from the traditional gallery area of Mayfair and in 2013 established their new gallery on Beauchamp Place.  As a result, they are attracting a diverse generation of art collectors from both the UK and abroad, whilst at the same time continuing to offer high quality art expertise and bespoke services for clients.

The website launch is designed to coincide with the gallery’s much anticipated Summer Collection, which runs from Thursday 3rd to Friday 18th July.

The exhibition reflects the ethos of Gladwell & Patterson, bringing old and new together with their collection focusing on three areas, “Painting the Present”, “Painting the Past” and “Painting Perfection”, a theme which also resonates on the new website.

Users of the new site will find an inspiration page to browse paintings which may interest them, various social media tools to share works of art they like as well as some beautifully produced videos on a selection of artists providing something a little bit more special.  With the opportunity to purchase paintings online, all the while having experts from the gallery on hand to answer questions or advise on collections, the experience of gladwellpatterson.com should not be dissimilar to that of visiting the gallery on Beauchamp Place.

Commenting on how Gladwell & Patterson have now positioned themselves in London and the wider global market, head of the family business, Anthony Fuller said;

“Our move to Knightsbridge, prompted by the gradual change of Mayfair from arts centre to fashion hub, has given us the opportunity to introduce our traditional collection of exceptional paintings to a wider clientele. Whilst we have updated our appearance we have maintained our traditional values. We remain just as committed to providing the finest paintings and drawings from around the world”

He added, “The website is just another way of promoting our experience and collections to potential buyers and aims to simplify the process of buying art in today’s busy world.”

The Summer Collection includes works by contemporary artists such as Peter Van Breda  and his Venice landscapes in “Painting the Present” mixed with quintessential scenes from artists such as Munnings in “Painting the Past” whilst show stopper works by artistic heavyweights  including Monet, Piccasso, Pissaro are found in “Painting Perfection.”  This year’s highlight is a painting by Sorolla, Dos niños en una playa, reflecting the joy and playfulness of high summer.

Gladwell & Patterson’s Summer Collection can be viewed on weekdays from 11am – 7pm and weekends from 12pm – 4pm.  Paintings range from £2,000 to upwards of £40,000.
