Description
Caught By The Light depicts a woodland scene bursting with bluebells where a narrow earth path curves through a dense stand of trees. Slender trunks rise vertically across the composition, their bark rendered with precise linear marks, while fallen branches and moss-covered logs lie across the forest floor. The ground is carpeted with clusters of bluebells that spread between the trees, their cool blue tones contrasting with the fresh greens of spring foliage. Martin Taylor is known for the meticulous method with which he constructs his landscapes. Using extremely fine brushes, he builds the image through countless small strokes, layering colour and texture across the surface of the canvas.
