Kenneth Webb is considered to be one of the finest landscape painters of the last one-hundred years. Unlike most of his other floral compositions, which have relevance to the natural form, his Sweet Peas are deliberately presented in a semi-abstract way, so that the colour pattern is predominant over the structure of the flower itself. There is a gaiety about the Sweet Pea which is easy for Kenneth to respond to.
