Description
A Feather from Orkney depicts a single patterned feather. Alternating bands of warm brown and pale cream mark the vane, with fine linear strokes describing the barbs and central shaft in close detail. Dylan Waldron painted A Feather from Orkney after finding the object while beachcombing during a coastal walk on Orkney. Removed from its original setting, the feather is presented as an isolated specimen, its scale enlarged to allow close examination of pattern, texture and colour.
