Description
Peter Wileman often explores coastal subjects shaped by changing weather systems and the shifting light that follows them. In Passing Storm at Dawn the landscape is suggested through layered paint, fluid gestures and areas of thicker impasto that define the headland and distant shoreline. Cooler passages of blue and grey describe the clearing sky, while sudden flashes of orange and red mark the first appearance of daylight after the passing storm.
